FIRST CORPS EVENT SEPTEMBER 26-28, 2008

Each year, Friends of Gettysburg First Corps members enjoy exclusive events designed just for them. This year, the annual First Corps event will be held in conjunction with Grand Opening Weekend, where members will be among the first to experience the magnificent rehabilitated Cyclorama painting and will also enjoy a private reception on Friday evening, September 26, with Gettysburg National Military Park Superintendent Dr. John A. Latschar and Gettysburg Foundation President Robert C. Wilburn.

First Corps members will participate in a battlefield tour on Saturday, September 27, led by Dr. Carol Reardon and Wayne Motts; the tour will focus on Pickett's Charge and Gen. Lewis Armistead, including his wounding and death on this hallowed ground. After the tour, First Corps members will join the Grand Opening Weekend's premiere celebration on Saturday evening, September 27, where they can "party like it's 1863."

Members should watch their mail for an official invitation, but please don't wait to make your hotel reservations. Rooms are filling up quickly.
