Join the Friends of Gettyburg for a full day of battlefield preservation in Gettysburg! Participants will complete projects determined by the National Park Service Maintenance.
Work assignments may include: building or painting fences throughout the battlefield, painting or cleaning headstones in Soldiers’ National Cemetery at Gettysburg, clearing brush on the battlefield, or being in the reserves to help where needed.
Registration will be at 7:00 a.m. at the National Park Service Maintenance Facility located at 405 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Lunch will be provided for all participants at 12:30 p.m.
A National Park Service Park Ranger or Licensed Battlefield Guide will provide an informative program at the conclusion of the day. Information on the program will be available at registration.
No experience is necessary, only a willingness to help preserve the battlefield for future generations!
