Licensed Battlefield Guide Guillermo L. Bosch will lead this all-day coach tour from the Union pontoon crossing at Edwards Ferry, Maryland to Cemetery Hill, Gettysburg, following the headquarter sites used by General Meade, first, as commander of the Union Fifth Corps, and, then, as commander of the Union Army of the Potomac. Poolesville, Arcadia, Prospect Hill, Middleburg, and Taneytown will be visited. Some walking and brief uphill climbing involved.
Following a day of touring, join fellow Friends in the Refreshment Saloon after hours at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center for a buffet dinner and silent auction.
Friday Evening Program: Civil War Photography Extravaganza with Licensed Battlefield Guide and co-founder of the Center for Civil War Photography Garry Adelman
Join Licensed Battlefield Guide Garry Adelman for a "Civil War Photo Extravaganza" as he leads a photographic tour of the Civil War. Adelman will pair photographs taken during the war with modern photographs, using 3D and even 4D techniques, and provide insights into the aims and methods of the photographers, thus revealing some interesting truths about the conflict.
